The short version

A summary to help you. The full text below is what applies.

  • Your data stays on your device

    Invoices, customers, items, payments, notes and bill photos are stored only on your phone. There is no login, and we do not upload them.

  • Only GSTIN look-ups go online

    When you tap Auto-fill, the GSTIN you typed is sent to our server to fetch that business’s registered details.

  • No ads, no trackers

    No advertising, no analytics or tracking SDKs, no profiling. We never sell or rent personal data.

  • You stay in control

    Delete your data in the app at any time, and ask us to delete GSTIN look-up records from our server.

1. Who we are and what this covers

Hisab Time is a GST billing app for Indian businesses. It is operated by Technical Guider, a sole proprietorship of Shivam Gupta, with its registered address at Shree Nagar, Rani Bagh, Pitampura, Delhi 110034, India. In this policy, “Hisab Time”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Technical Guider.

This policy applies to:

  • the Hisab Time app for Android (app ID in.hisab.app), and the iPhone app when it is released;
  • our website, hisabtime.com; and
  • our server at api.hisabtime.com, which powers GSTIN auto-fill.

When you record details about your own customers or suppliers in the app (such as names, GSTINs, phone numbers and addresses), you decide what to record and why. That information stays on your device, and you are responsible for using it lawfully.

2. Your business data stays on your device

Everything you create in Hisab Time is saved in the app’s own storage on your device. That includes:

  • your business profile: name, GSTIN, address, logo, and the bank and UPI details you choose to print on invoices;
  • customers and suppliers, with their contact details and GSTINs;
  • invoices, quotations, proposals, proforma invoices, drafts and other documents;
  • items, prices, HSN/SAC codes, stock levels and product photos;
  • payments, balances, subscriptions and recurring bills; and
  • notes, and the purchase bills you photograph or attach (images and PDFs).

There is no Hisab Time account or login today, and we do not upload this data to our servers. We cannot see it, and we cannot recover it for you.

If you uninstall the app or clear its data, this information is deleted from the device. You can export a backup from inside the app whenever you like. Backup files are saved wherever you choose, so please keep them somewhere safe.

Hisab Time works offline. It connects to the internet only for the things described in sections 3 and 4, and only when you use them.

3. GSTIN auto-fill: what we receive

When you add a customer or supplier and tap Auto-fill, the app sends the GSTIN you typed to our server at api.hisabtime.com over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Our server asks a third-party GST data provider, Appyflow Technologies, for that business’s registered name, address and registration status, and sends the result back to your app.

A GSTIN identifies a business, and these details are public information on the GST portal. You do not need to give us your name, phone number or email address to use auto-fill.

What our server keeps when you use GSTIN auto-fill
WhatWhyHow long
The GSTIN you looked up, with the registered details we foundSo that repeat look-ups of the same GSTIN are faster30 days
A request log: IP address, GSTIN, time and outcomeSecurity, preventing abuse, and billing for look-ups90 daysthen deleted automatically

Checking that a GSTIN is correctly formed (its format and check digit) happens on your device, is free, and sends nothing to us. Auto-fill runs only when you tap it. If you prefer, you can type a customer’s details by hand and nothing is sent.

4. Other times the app goes online

Fonts for PDFs

When the Android app creates a PDF of an invoice or another document to share or print, it loads typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). As with any website your phone connects to, Google receives your device’s IP address for that request. The contents of your document are not sent. Google handles this data under its own privacy policy.

Importing a bill from a link

If you paste a link to import a purchase bill (for example, a Google Drive or Dropbox link), the app downloads the file from that website straight to your device. The request goes from your phone to that website, not through our servers, and that website’s own privacy policy applies.

5. Sharing, camera and photos

Sharing. When you share an invoice, a statement or a payment reminder through WhatsApp, email or any other app, Hisab Time hands the file or message to the app you pick, for the person you choose. This happens only when you choose to share. After that, the receiving app’s privacy policy applies.

Camera and photos. Hisab Time uses your camera or photo library only when you choose to photograph or attach a bill, a logo or a product photo. The images are saved inside the app on your device and are not uploaded to us.

6. Payments for plans and credits

Hisab Time is free during early access. When paid plans and GSTIN auto-fill credits launch, you will buy them on hisabtime.com through Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway.

  • You enter your card, UPI or net banking details on Razorpay’s secure checkout. We never see or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or banking passwords.
  • We receive the payment confirmation, the amount, and the contact details you give at checkout (such as your name, email address and phone number).
  • We use these to deliver what you bought, confirm your purchase, help you with support and refunds, and keep the records that tax and accounting laws require.

Razorpay processes your payment under its own privacy policy and terms.

7. Our website and emails to us

Website. hisabtime.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising or tracking scripts, and it does not load fonts or files from other companies. Like every web server, ours receives your IP address and basic browser information in order to deliver pages, and may record them in standard technical logs used for security.

Emails. When you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to answer you and to keep a record of your request.

8. What we never do

  • Show advertising, in the app or on our website.
  • Use analytics or tracking SDKs.
  • Sell, rent or trade personal data.
  • Profile you, or make automated decisions about you.
  • Read your invoices or business records. They never reach us.

9. Who we share data with

We share data only with the service providers that make Hisab Time work, and only what each one needs:

We respond within 30 days.
