This is always the latest release. With JavaScript switched on, this page also shows its version, size and SHA-256 fingerprint.

01Install

Four steps, in Chrome on your phone.

Android asks a few questions the first time you install an app from outside Google Play. Here is what each one means. Menu names vary a little between phone brands.

  1. Download the file

    Tap Download Hisab Time above. Chrome may warn that this type of file can harm your device: it says that about every app file from outside Google Play. If it came from hisabtime.com, choose Download anyway.

  2. Open it

    When the download finishes, tap Open. Or find the file in Files, under Downloads.

  3. Allow Chrome to install apps

    The first time, Android asks for permission. Tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, then go back. You can turn it off again once Hisab Time is installed.

  4. Install, then open

    Tap Install, then Open. Set up your business and make your first invoice. The first 2 are free.

02Check

Is it the file we published?

Every release has a SHA-256 fingerprint, shown above. Work out the fingerprint of the file you downloaded and compare: they must match, character for character.

On Windows, in Command Prompt

certutil -hashfile hisab-time.apk SHA256

On a Mac or Linux, in Terminal

shasum -a 256 hisab-time.apk

Run it in the folder that holds the file, usually Downloads. On Android, a checksum app can do the same.

03Updates

Most fixes reach the app by themselves.

Hisab Time downloads small updates to its own screens in the background and uses them the next time you open it, so you do not need to come back here for every fix. If an update ever fails to start, the app goes back to the version that worked.

When a bigger update is needed, the app tells you and links here. Install the new file over the one you have: your data stays where it is. A backup first never hurts.

04Your data

Moving phones? Back up first.

Your books live on your phone, not on our servers. Before you uninstall the app, reset your phone or move to a new one, make a backup in the app (Settings, then Backup) and keep the file somewhere safe. Restore it on the new phone.

Your Pro plan and GSTIN credits are not in that file and do not need to be: they belong to your account. Sign in with the same account on the new phone and they are there.

Hisab Time is on its way to Google Play, and we will link it here when it is there. A plan or credits you buy now belong to your account, so they work in either version. If you switch to the Google Play version later, make a backup first.

On a computer? Hisab Time runs on Android phones. Open hisabtime.com/download on your phone to install it there.

On an iPhone? There is no iPhone app yet. One will follow later.
